    • Learning and Behaviour Specialist - CONEL (4 vacancies)

    • Ambitious College is looking to recruit around 30 Learning and Behaviour Specialists as we continue to expand. 

      There has never been a better time to join Ambitious College. Our College is expanding and we are becoming a first-choice further education and training provider for young people with complex autism aged 16-25 and their families across London and beyond. As a result, we are looking to expand our workforce by September 2017.

      We are looking to appoint outstanding Learning and Behaviour Specialists who are keen to move to the next stage of their career.  Learning and Behaviour Specialists are a vital part of our workforce. They work face to face with our learners everyday, inspiring and teaching to help them reach their full potential.

      You will join a dynamic team with a singular vision: to make the ordinary possible for more children and young people with autism. We pride ourselves on engaging and preparing learners with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to make a successful transition to adulthood and to live, work and contribute as part of their community. You will be a part of a strong and dedicated team who are committed to delivering our specialist curriculum to improve life chances for young people. 

      A general day to day may include some of the following:

      • encouraging young adults to learn basic life skills, hygiene, cooking, self-presentation

      • to provide excellent personal care support in line with organisational policy and approved support plans and guidelines

      • dealing with challenging behaviour effectively and swiftly

      • to be responsible for safeguarding learners and reporting any concerns

      • to ensure the accurate completion of related administrative tasks

      • maintaining boundaries and rules

      • working closely with the trans-disciplinary team.

      Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday (we are willing to consider applicants with part time availability).

      You will be required to work 42 weeks per year, including two weeks full training in July/August (please note the salary will not be pro rata).

    • Can you deliver high quality teaching, learning and behaviour support using a behavioural approach (ABA/PBS) to children and young adults with autism?

      We are looking for experienced individuals with demonstrable experience of working with children and young adults with autism to support the Class Lead and Transdisciplinary Team in ensuring the efficient and effective running of the class to meet the day to day needs of the pupils. Working with a team of professionals, you will be a key player in pushing the boundaries to help every child with autism fulfil their potential.

       

      We’re keen to hear from experienced Tutors who have worked with children and young people with autism using a behavioural approach. You will need a well organised approach, good planning skills, an appreciation of Health & Safety in the workplace and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Above all, you will also need the physical and emotional resilience to work with young people who sometimes present with behaviours that challenge.

    • Trainee ABA Tutor

    • Are you passionate and committed to the personal development and effective delivery of learning to pupils?

       

      At Ambitions about Autism, we have a comprehensive development programme for our Trainee Tutors and can offer you a two-year in-house training programme to support you to successfully deliver this crucial role.

       

      What are we looking for?

       

      In addition to your commitment to reflective practice, you will have experience of working with children with Autism or learning disabilities as well as being able to demonstrate a commitment to the development programme that is focused on teaching children and young people with autism using a behavioral approach. We’re looking for people that are keen and ready to develop and are physically and emotionally resilient to work with people who sometimes present behavior that challenges.

       

      So what will you do as a Trainee Tutor? Here are some, but not all of the exciting challenges you will face:

       

      • You will work with children aged 6 – 19 years.
      • You will be based in a class of approximately six pupils.
      • You will work with pupils both individually and in small groups.
      • You will have additional key worker responsibilities for one or more of the pupils in the class.
      • You will be responsible for teaching individual and small groups of children a personalised curriculum, using teaching techniques based on the principles of behavior analysis.
      • You will work under the supervision of the behavior analysts and qualified teachers to ensure the efficient and effective running of the class.

       

      Pay and benefits (increments dependent on performance):

      Starting Salary £15,971 p.a

      At 6 months £16,486 p.a

      12 months £17,333 p.a

      18 months £18,396 p.a

      24 months £20,309 p.a

       

      Hours of work: 8:45am-5:00pm (36.25 hours per week; you will be required to work 42 weeks per year, term-time only but will be paid all year round. )
