As one of the world’s largest providers of visual effects for Film, Double Negative has facilities in London and Vancouver. Double Negative’s R&D department develop ground-breaking software to ensure that the studio remains at the cutting-edge of global VFX production.
As one of the largest R&D teams in the industry, we support multiple film projects in parallel, from initial design through on-set supervision and production to post-production, by delivering pioneering tools that enable our artists to efficiently tackle increasingly complex challenges, with stunning results.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior candidate who is passionate about film, has a thirst for learning, and wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced team environment.
Needs to Do:
Liaise with artists and production coordinators.
Work with team and project leads to solve daily issues and keep stakeholders updated.
Maintain, revise and extend existing tools and configuration.
Work within Double Negative's development conventions and frameworks.
Ensure testing is incorporated into software updates.
Support end-users during production.
Document tools and workflows.
Needs to Know:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Film, Media or equivalent subject.
Experienced Linux user.
Knowledge of Python is a must.
Knowledge of PyQT, MySQL, C++, Bash is advantageous.
Previous production experience (e.g. editing, compositing, media processing) and familiarity with VFX software packages is advantageous but not a requirement.
Needs to Be:
Enthusiastic with a good work ethic and eagerness to learn.
Team oriented and organised.
A strong communicator – both verbal and written.
Interest in usability and user interface/experience design is advantageous.
