Job Title: Creature Supervisor
Reports To: Head of 3D
Key Purpose of the Job:
We are looking for Creature Supervisors for some prestigious projects. This is a diverse field and we are interested in speaking to all 3D Supervisors with experience of Creature shows, particularly those with past experience in the following areas of specialisation:
Cloth and Fur
Needs to Do:
Oversee the development of CG creatures from design and build stage to final render.
Supervise show’s creature pipeline and tool development, providing direction on architecture and methods.
Ensure effective communication and collaboration with and between creature TDs, lighting and build artists, animators, other discipline supervisors and related teams.
When required, may need to implement key challenging aspects of the work themselves.
Needs to Know:
Needs to have several years of experience with major creature/character projects, preferably feature films.
Thorough knowledge of most areas of creature specialisation.
Full working knowledge of Maya, also beneficial to have experience with Houdini, Clarisse and/or Katana.
Need to be comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work, and have strong visual and artistic skills. Programming or scripting skills (e.g. mel, python) would be beneficial, but not essential.
Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature heavy post production environment.
Strong leadership qualities with proven ability and experience supervising teams.
