    Key Purpose of the Job:

    To use the appropriate tools and techniques to replace or extend photo real digital environments. We would expect a range of skills in 3D and 2.5D including Modelling, Texturing, Look Development, Lighting, Digital Matte Painting and Reprojection. The use of Maya, Nuke, Mari and Clarisse is also required.


    Needs to Do:
    Developing methodologies for creating digital environments that:
    Achieve the goals of the VFX Supervisor and other supervisors e.g. Sequence, Environment.
    Produce photo realistic results.
    Match the plate photography.
    Make efficient use of resources such as rendering.
    Ensure consistency throughout a sequence of shots.
    Creating photo-realistic assets including models, textures and digital matte paintings.
    Creating scene layouts of assets, projections, lights and rendering shots.
    Collaborating with compositors to provide the required outputs.
    Troubleshooting technical issues.
    Optimising renders and resources to work within constraints.
    Collaborating and communicating with production and other team members to ensure an efficient workflow.

    Cover the more general 3d tasks such as modelling, animation, texturing, lighting and rendering. At times, they may be asked to learn a proprietary system or a new piece of software, and we would expect them to be flexible enough to handle this.


    Needs to Know:

    Thorough understanding of 3D and 2.5D VFX processes and production pipelines.
    Experience modelling, texturing, layout, lighting and digital matte painting.
    Strong working knowledge of Maya, Photoshop, Nuke and Mari.
    Knowledge of Clarisse an advantage.
    Good understanding of compositing.
    Experience working with shoot data including photographic and reference data, HDRIs, Photogrammetry and Lidar.Experience developing concept art into photo real environments.
    Experience with procedural city generation and scattering tools an advantage.
    Strong knowledge and understanding of the natural world (Geology, Geography and Meteorology) and Architecture (Design and Engineering).
