• Reception and Front of House Manager

    Key Purpose of the Job:
    To manage the Front of House function for a busy London VFX studio, creating a professional, friendly atmosphere
    and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Managing the day-to-day work of the Reception Team
    • Managing the day-to-day work of the Runners Team in collaboration with the Head Runner
    • Developing the Reception and Runners Teams, ensuring they have the knowledge and training needed to carry
    out their duties
    • Managing the performance of the Reception and Runners Teams, ensuring they are consistently providing an
    excellent service
    • Maintaining fair and accurate rotas for both teams, ensuring cover is arranged for annual leave and sickness
    absence and coordinating shift swaps where necessary
    • Ensuring all new Receptionists and Runners are fully trained
    • Monitoring hand-over reports in both teams to ensure consistency
    • Reviewing, amending and adding to the Reception and Runner procedural guides to ensure best practice and
    continued good service
    • Liaising with Artist Managers regarding the Runners’ temporary moves into Artist roles
    • Working collaboratively with the HR department, following HR procedures and best practice including personal
    development and annual reviews
    • Keeping the Head of Facilities regularly updated on the progress of both teams
    • Taking a lead role in implementing improvement and change for the Front of House area
    • Covering the Reception desk during times of annual leave and sickness absence within the Reception Team
    • Working collaboratively with the Executive Assistant and the PA/TA Team
    • Overseeing the telephone lists, ensuring they are kept up to date
    • Overseeing and helping with all company travel and accommodation bookings
    • Overseeing the whole Reception area, making sure it is kept neat and tidy at all times


    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
    • Previous line management experience
    • Minimum 2-3 years experience working in a Front of House/Reception role
    • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
    • Excellent telephone manner
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Ability to multitask and remain professional under pressure
    • Pro-active, with strong initiative
    • Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail
    • Team oriented
    • Flexible and accepting of change
